Show An Ordinance. MAKING CERTAIN VREGULA-TIONS VREGULA-TIONS FOR THE PREVENr TION OP FIRE, AND AMENDING AMEND-ING SECTIONS 205 and 20fJof the REVISED ORDINANCES OF CEDAR CITY, UTAH. Be it ordained by the City Council tJf Cedar City, Utah, that: Sec. 1. That Sees. 205 and 206 of the Revised Ordinances of Cedar City, be and the same are hereby amended to read as follows : Section 205, the following are hereby esablished as the fire limits of Cedar City, to-wit: Commencing at the SE corner of Block 36? thence running West 265 feet, thence North to the South'side of first North Street, thence East to a point 265 feet East of' the North-west corner of Block, 37, thence South to the North side of Center Street, thence West to he piont of beginning be-ginning See, 206, It shall be unlawful to erect within the fire limits, any buildings with walls of any other material except, brick, iron, stone, or other substantial and non-combustible material, and the covering of roofs of all buildings, hereafter erected or newly roofed within the said fire limits shall consist of substantial and non-combustible material; and each buildiftp&fronting on ' Main StrshlLJl, pfc;eparafea from all others by a wall of brick, rock, concrete, iron or-any other "non-combustible, material said walls must be at least nine inches inch-es thick and shall !extend from front to rear of the building and from the foundation to no less than two feet above the roof; provided that the following outbuildings may be constructed construc-ted of wood with metal or other non-combustible coverings, Namely: sheds, to facilitate the erection of authorized buildings, coal sheds, hay barns, stables, privies, lumber sheds and other necessary out buildings, and all y such out buildings shall be sep-rato sep-rato buildings. Sec. 2. No pipe of any stove, or fire, place, shalli.be kept up or used unless the same b conducted con-ducted into a chimnoy of brick or stone, in all cases where a stove pipe passes through the wood work of a building it shall be separated from such wood work at least four inches by metal or other non-combustible material. Sec. 3. No person, firm or corporation or company shall permit the accumulation of boxes, waste, or other infiam m able substance in or about any building or premises owned or occupied by such person, firm or corporation or carry on any business busi-ness in or about any premises in such a manner as to endanger such premises or building or other building or premises from danger dan-ger of fire or explosion. Sec. 4. Whosoever shall violate vio-late any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction con-viction thereof shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $100.00. Sec 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and bo' in force on and after the 6th day of May, A. D. 1913. Passed by the City Council this 1st day of May, A, D. 1913.
