Keith Smith, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Smith, was operated on Tuesday Tues-day for hernia by Dr. Leonard. At this time the lad is reported to bo getting get-ting along nicely. We aro informed that Mrs. Clifton of the California rnndh, bctwen this place and Lund, has purchased a new Dort car from J. David Leigh, who has the agency for Iron county. Tho play "The Rack," produced by the World Film corporation and shown at the Thorley Theatre Tuesday night, wns an exceptionally Btrong bill and is well spoken of by all who saw it. There are persistent rumors afloat to tho cfTect that Miss Delia Smith of Cedar City and Mr. Topham of Para-gonnh Para-gonnh are to bo married on the 15th of this month. Wonder who can confirm con-firm the report. Mrs. Murie and Mrs. Cunningham, of Salt Lake City, who have been visiting for a few days with their sister, Mrs. Richard A. Thorley and other relatives, will depart for thefr home today. Dr. Leonard returned from Esca-lante Esca-lante last Saturday evening, where he spent two or three days doing some surgical operations. Among those who were operated upon were Clarence Riddle and his littlo sister, and a Miss Heaps. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Carpenter returned re-turned the first of tho week from their home in Glendale. It is their intention inten-tion to spend the summer in Kane county, returning here in September in time for the opening of the B. A. C. We are glad to be able to report that Sister Julia Cox, who has been seriously ill for some time is now considerably better. Her husband, E. C. So far Cedar haB had the better of all the games, but the Parowan Paro-wan boys aro gradually cutting down the odds and may have the upper hand at any time. Tomorrow's game should bo fairly close and exciting.
