One of our citizens has just returned re-turned from a prospecting trip out around Indian Peak, where he was looking for tunersten and other valuable valua-ble metals. While he was not suc- 1 cessful in finding any important de posits of this valuable substance, he found encouraging indications. But , while awav he reports witnessing an incident which did him as much good as finding half a dozen tungsten mines. "It happened this way," said the citi-, citi-, zen: "I was camped at the mouth of Snake Creek, where there are a num- U ber of Indian farms, and a few days l before some Shoshone Indians came w ' over to pay their respects to Captain i George. Well, one of the Indians K named Craze, who couldn't understand ST" much Engjish, was always pilfering ? around camp, and one evening when we were all around the fire, spinning spin-ning yarns, Craze got to snooping and pilfering around tho grub box. The first thing he got hold of was a pack-v pack-v age of arm and hammer soda that my wife put in for use in case I ran out ,,, of bakingpowder and couldn't get any from the Captain, whose closest com- jj issary is Frisco. Well, sir, Craze lifts - ', the package and gubs down half its contents in one swallow, and strang ling, grabs for the first thing that he can lay his hands on. which happens j& to be a bottle of Mount's pickling vin- fW. ? egar, and empties the contents of the "'-4 bottle into his system." ' .?v "V "What happened then?" somebody i asked. "- "I don't know just all that did take place, for everything about camp was turned topsy turvey, and about a minute min-ute later we observed a misty streak goimr over blue ridge that we recognized recog-nized to be Craze with a stream of foam flowing over each' shoulder. 'It Is believed that Craze in his great haste probably didn't have timo to notice his own home in White River but kept ripht on going, and it is ficr- ured that if he kept up his pace he would now be at or near Skagaway, Alaska.
