Most failures can be traced back to a lack of preparation. It does no good to come up after the contest with excuses ex-cuses why we did not win: that only emphasises our weakness. The proper thing is to start early enough and work hard enough to bo able to at least approach our best, and then Jf defeated take it in the right way. Wo all want to win, so help in any way vou can. Wo understand that the Cedar contestants con-testants are saying nothing, but aro putting in their best efforts at practice, prac-tice, so don't moke tho mistake of thinking that because they are quiet that they are doing nothing. By the way, our M. I. A. officers have had many inquiries as to when tho Stake contest will come off, and thoy say they are unable to find out from tho Stake officers. It is quite an advantage to know the date of anything of this kind nnd it seems right that the date should be given if decided upon; and if not, it will stimulate efTort in all the wards to have it dono at once. Let's havo the date. x |
