Show J FILLMORE 13 DAYS 1 t WITHOUT PARCEL POST !'' Petition Sent to Fourth Assistant V Postmaster General for Relief X4f of the Situation. i - J (Fillmoro Progress.) 4 It is now thirteen days since the J peoplo of Fillmore, Meadow, Holden or KanoBh have received any parcel uost mail which has been consigned to them by the various houses with which they deal. We are wondering if this condition will continue much longer. If it does nearly all business will have to suspend operation until I Mr. Hawley geta ready to bring our 4 mail into us. It soems mighty funny v to the people here .that freight teams II and others can get over the road withal with-al out much trouble and they seem to 11 think that if these teams can do so, M Mr. Hawley should havo no trouble in jl doing the same. Two freight teams jl pulled into town last Saturday morn-IB morn-IB ing with 2,500 lbs. to the load apiece. They, however, camo by n different road, but there is nothing to provcnl the mail from coming over tho same road and even if wo could get our parcel par-cel post mail in hero every two days it would at least signify that tho contractor con-tractor was trying to give us tho service ser-vice wo pay the government to maintain. main-tain. A petition, signed by most of the people in tho places affected, has been sent to the Fourth Assistant Postmaster General at Washington, D. C. this week and we look for something some-thing to be done to reliove us from this condition in short order. |
