Show GRUESOME FIND NEAR MODENA m Skeleton of Man is Found on H Desert? Identity Unknown H Sheriff Investigates H While riding over the desert B looking after his sheep flocks, B Berry Williams of Kanarra found B the skeleton of a man at a m point about a mile and a half m north of Modena. Sheriff Froyd m vras notified and made 'an H investigation. H The man had been dead for H several months, but as to the H exact time there was no means B of determining. A large part H of the clothing worn by him was H found nearby but nothing that B would afford a clue aL to who he B was or how he came to meet B death in such a spot. From the appearance of the B hair fotfnd near the skeleton B and the condition of the teeth, B Sheriff Froyd was of the opinion B that the man was aboun 35 years B of age. The flesh had entirely B fallen from the bones, excepting B the feet, which were protected H by heavy shoes. The shoes were B about a size 5, and were the heavy red low style used quite B generally by cattlemen and H prospectors. The trousers were B corduroy,, and these, together B with the shoes, were in good B condition. The outside shirt B had evidently been worn the B first time, the label on the collar, B which bore the word "Hickory," B being plainly discernable and B showing no signs of having B faded. The above, together B with a pair of "President" sus-B, sus-B, npeders, and a pair of heavy Wt cotton socks, were the only m articles of wearing apparel W - " found. - A "After making a thorough search for some clue that would lead to an identification of the man, Sheriff Froyd provided a. I suitable box and buried the skeleton at the place where it was found. 'As no one has been I reported as' missing from this m section of the state for several 1 years, the identity of tne man I will doubtless never be known. |
