Show va; We should think that our legislators would leam bye-and-bye that there is a limit to the revenue reve-nue and resources of the state, and that they .would make their appropriations conform more mearly to the estimated income. For n body of lawmakers to get together and appropriate nearly a million dollars more in this state than the revenue reve-nue available and then leave it up to the governor tq do the pruning to suit himself, knowing that he would be forced to make liberal cuts somewhere, some-where, seems to us as childish and silly. Besides that, it confers n lot of unwarranted authority upon the governor's office which is neither good for that official nor the people at large. (& |
