Show CORRESPONDENCE - KANARRAVILLE. Kanarra, Utah. Feb. 6, 1917. A little 10 year old girl of Henry Pollock was stricken with appendicitis yesterday afternoon. Everything possible pos-sible was done for her relief here, but without avail. On the advice of Dr. Macfarlanc she was placed in an auto and hurried to Cedar City, where she was operated on about 8:30 this evening. even-ing. Mrs. James S. Stapley has been confined con-fined to her bed for the past few days with some form of illness with which she has been afflicted for a year or more. The twins of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Piatt, which were born January 26, and for a time were very delicate, are thriving nicely now. The Poultry club will give a character charac-ter ball next Friday night. Every body invited. David Sharp of the B. A. C. faculty was down last Thursday night and lectured to the members of the Poultry Poul-try club. The meeting was well attended at-tended and at the close of the lecture, an appetizing lunch was served, the charge being twice the amount represented repre-sented by the size of the shoes they wore. The smount was placed in a stocking and pinned to the invitation. The Ford Improvement Club was the scene of a pleasant dancing party , last Saturday evening. Refreshments consisting of fruit, lemonade and macaroons mac-aroons were served. Excellent music was furnished which made the fantas-! tic trip very enjoyable. BOB Some few days ago a coyote came to the home of Mr. W. W. Fee and engaged in a flght with his dog, which was bitten by the stranger believed to be affected with rabies. Mr. Fee ' took no chances and shortly after killed the dog. We think the proposed dog tax will be h great benefit to the country, as it will do away with many of the worthless dogs, which aid the spread of rabies. B ' B Mr. E. Dastalec's freight car of goods arrived here this morning. He is located on the west half of section 28, and is stopping at the home of Mr. Harry E. Rimmol until he gets his house built. His wife and children child-ren will arrive on the 6:19 train Feb. 4th. B B Mr and Mrs. W. W. Fee and family were the guests at dinner Thursday February 1st, of Mr. and Mrs. W. (!. Bumpus. a a b Mr. H. J. Bush is reported ill this week with a bad cold. Word was received from Mrs. H. E. Rimmel that she arrived safely in Los Angeles. She is very much disappointed disap-pointed in the weather, however, as it is very much colder there than she had expected. Mr. George Collard and his sister Martha and their cousin, Mrs. Mary Millete, went on a trip to the mountains. moun-tains. They report having had a very pleasant time. Ground Hog Out, Sees Shadow and Rushes Rack. Tradition says six more weeks of winter would ensue if the ground hog saw his shadow when he came out of his winter hovel Feb. 2nd. That, then, would indicate six more weeks of the same pleasant days that make living a joy and thoughts of winter snows seem utter imposibilities.( ?) e b A most enjoyable afternoon waa passed recently et the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Fee in skating on their reservoir. A very good time was reported. 0 Mr. Victor Carlson came home the other day with a very badly crushed finger, which, however, is doing nicely now and he hopes soon to return to his employment in Milford. - Messrs. H. E. Rimmel, Olaf Johnson, John-son, M. Riley and Prof. G. C. Hutch-erson, Hutch-erson, were the guests at dinner Sunday, Sun-day, February 4, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Bumpus. Ladies Aid Society Met Feb. 3. Mrs. W. W. Fee very pleasantly entertained en-tertained the members of the Ladies' Aid Society at her home on Saturday afternoon. The business session was conducted by the president, Mrs. J. Asbury. The subject under consideration consider-ation was the starving Belgium children. child-ren. Fancy work and music were an enjoyable en-joyable feature of the afternoon. At the close light refreshments were served. The Ford Improvement Club will meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. W.
