Show B. A. C. DEFEATS DIXIE BALL FIVE Telephone Communication from Saint George Gives Score of 40-24 In Favor of Aggies. Late this evening as we are preparing pre-paring to close our forms on this issue is-sue of The Record news is received I from St. George by telephone of the j result of the basket ball game between the Dixie and B. A. C. teams for the championship of the southern division. divis-ion. The game resulted in an easy victory for the B. A. C. boya, the score at the finish being 40 to 24 in their favor. One week ago in the B. A. C. gym the Dixie lads won from the local five by a score of 27-26. The result of the game tonight will mean that the B. A. C. team will go to Kanab to play them a return game on their own floor, and then they will have to plsy a final game with Dixie on a neutral floor to decide the tie which now exists between the two teams. The game with Kanab will be more a matter of form than anything else, merely to comply with the rules of the league. In a previous game the B. A. C. defeated them 75 to 14, so j that there can be no serious doubt as to the outcome of this game. But the final game with Dixie will be a hard fought battle, and the Dixie boys will make a desperate effort to wrest the championship from the Aggies. Ag-gies. However, the showing thus far is decidedly in favor of the local team and unless some unforseen contingency contin-gency should arise, it seems probable that the B. A. C. will not only represent repre-sent the Southern League in the state championship games, but that they will stand a very good chance of coming com-ing off victorious again this year in the state tourney. |
