Show BERYL. - ' Beryl, Utah, July 26, 101G. The Neighborhood Social Club has changed its names to The B., Y. H. Farmers' Association; at the business meeting held at the home of Mr. J. W. Clark on July lGth. Election of officers was held, Mr. J. W. Clark being be-ing chosen as president, Mrs. Violet Benton vice-president; Mr. Prout secretary sec-retary and Mr. Kiersy treasurer. The i next meeting will be held at Beryl - Hotel August 12th. Miss Vera Haw-ley Haw-ley and Mrs. Harritt will act as hostesses. host-esses. An enjoyable time is in store and all are cordially invited. We are glad to report the return of Miss Jessie Cadwallodcr and to note that she is much improved in health. Her' father accompanied her and will 4 remain a few weeks visiting Miss Jessie and her brother. 1 Mr. Beeler of Pasadena. California, was here at Beryl showing land to prospective homesteaders last week. Mr. Beeler with his wife and three , sons and their families are expected about September first. Each family has made a homestead entry and we are counting much on them for great improvements in our section of the valley. We have a slight inkling that Mr. Beeler. Sr., is intending building a church here. Wc surely need it. (More of this later.) p ;, Messrs. Clarence Berger and Lewis Pico have been in Pine Valley for several weeks. We are still waiting for the ladies in the case to mako their appearance. Of course all know of the marriage mar-riage of Mr. 0. W. Johnson of Heist and Mrs. Hart of Sahara, about a ' month ago. Wo hope more of the bachelors will follow A. W.'s example. r The latest from the scientists is 'l that bachelors are not sane. Well, we always knew something was - wrong. DoeB marriage change them? . Mrs. Fred Forncrook and her three nieces, who are spending the summer with her, were entertained at Cedar City over the 24th by Mr. Carlson. Mrs. C. H. Baird and daughter have pitched their tent on their homestead r" entry, which loins the Beryl Hotel. We welcome them as neighbors. Mrs. Rowland B. Jenkins is spending spend-ing a few months in Los Angeles with her sister, Mrs. J. F. Weisbard. Mr. Jenkins will Bpend the winter in Los Angeles. |
