Show tSJ HOW YOl CAN HELP IS A MERCHANT of Cedar City with whom we were in conversation the other day remarked that he could not trace anv benefits from his advertising; ad-vertising; that no one mentioned that they had seen his advertisement in the local paper, but that a number spoke of having seen the articles they were interested in displayed in the store windows; some referred to having "seen a neighbor with it" and one or two bad even spoken of seeing mention men-tion of his stock in a farm paper, but that not ,im. had given any indication that he or she had seen and read his adva, in the local paper, and therefore lie was in doubt whether it paid to advertise or not. Now, there is absolutely no doubt in m.v mind as to hundreds of our readers having read the mer chant's advs, and having made purchases as a direct result, but don't you sec that because you failed to mentfon this fact we have reclved no credit from the merchant for your business, and consequently he is in doubt as to whether tie is justified in spending money for advertising, or not. The newspaper i dependent upon its adv ing space sold, more than anything else for a living, liv-ing, and by mentioning the fact to merchants occasionally oc-casionally that you saw their advertisement in The Record you can do us an Immense amount of' good, make the merchant feel better satisfied, ami withal do yourself no harm. Try it. |
