Show THE DUTY OF EQUAL SUFFRAGE AND now, since Utah is regarded as the pioneer in the matter of woman's suffrage, in view of the fact that this is an important year in political po-litical matters, it isup to the women of Utah to show that the privileges of the franchise are not misplaced when bestowed upon women. They should be in evidence evi-dence in the primaries and conventions of their respective re-spective parties and .should have an equal say with men as to whom shall represent them in the state and national councils. The Republicans have called their county convention con-vention to elect delegates to the state convention at Price on May 3, for April 26, and primaries in the various precincts of the county will be held on April 1 9th to elect delegates to the county convention. The women of the party should be well represented at these primaries and conventions. The Record has not been advised as to when and where the Democrats will hold their county convention, conven-tion, or when their precinct primaries, but we have no doubt it will be at an early date and the ladies of this party should also make it a point to take an active ac-tive part. It is not only a privilege under the franchise fran-chise which you hold, but is also a duty of good citizenship. cit-izenship. (len . |
