Show Economics and tho demand for the metal have kept the copper properties of the country from shutting down tight. Some of tho larger companies have dropped their rate of production down to about 40 normal, and if further fur-ther curtailment were desired the next step would bo an absolute shut-down. This would be the last resort and a most costly procedure. J. F. Younger was in Cedar yesterday yester-day with a sample sack of potatoes raised on the Iron Springs ranch, owned by Joseph Haslam, Chris Ash-down Ash-down and William Hardy. They wen exceptionally large and solid specimens, speci-mens, even for n land of big potatoes. Some will bo sent to Mr. Youngcr's friends in Texas, others to California and Missouri, in order to show people "from Missouri" just what the desert of Utah can bo made to yield. Owing largely to the unfavorable, condition of tho weather, the attendance attend-ance at the conjoint Republican club meeting held in the Library auditorium auditor-ium last Tuesday night, was below par. The program was rendered substantia sub-stantia as published in the last issue is-sue of Tho Record, and consisted of talks on the national, state and county coun-ty tickets, campaign songs, dancing and refreshments. The music was supplied by tho Junior Orchestra. |
