Show GETTING READY FOR WORK ON CANYON ROAD D. Murphy, an attachec of tho engineering en-gineering department of tho federal government's road department, who did surveying in the canyon ahead of the Christensen Construction company lost year, and Mr. F. P. Gowons, also a government engineer, arrived in Cedar City early this week and will nt once get busy with tho engineering work on tho canyon rood from town to the intersection of tho rood with tho grade constructed last year, n distnnco of nbout nine or ten miles J from town. This rond has been included in-cluded in the government project and is nlso to be improved this spring. This portion of tho rbad will bo in a workable condition considerably earlier than tho road further up tho canyon. As soon ns tho preliminnry survey is mnde the work will be advertised ad-vertised for bids. Now that tho road up the canyon is an assured fact for the present scn- . son, plans should bo worked out by the Commercial club and other local organizations for the opening of rc- ' sorts and the building of trails, at least to the principal scenic nttrac- tions; particularly at this time to tho Flonigan natural bridge.
