Show i Now that the coronation ceremony has been Indefinitely postponed, the ' Knglish people must feel sore over the outcome of the Boer war. Nor will the ; bright prospect of the king's recovery lend much balm to the wound. Well, "man proposes, but God disposes." More than one has been cheated by the postponement of the coronation ceremony. American sycophants have been cheated out of a "rubber" at royal pageantry, the Irish people out of their fast, the Lord out of Cardinal Yaughan's "Te Deum," and, by the way, the Blarney Stone out of many a kiss. Visitors in Salt Lake were bewildered at seeing the umbrellas, hats and garments gar-ments of pedestrians on the streets, as well as the windows of street cars, stores and residences sprayed with salt at the first outbreak of the rainstorm on Wednesday afternoon. This "phenomenon" "phe-nomenon" is not the result ,as many thought, of evaporation from the Great Salt lake, of which anyone with any ' scientifice pretensions could assure them, but simply the result of the high winds, which, blowing in a furious gale from the northwest prior to the rainstorm, rain-storm, carried the salt from the lake shore like dust and dissolved Itself with the rain drops, and with them fell to the earth ajain. |
