Show I GBEAT FALLS, MONT. Captain - Charges C. Cochran, one ;of the best known old-time newspaper men of the state, recently in charge of the change house at the Boston Sr Montana smelters, died at the home o' his daughter, Mrs. E. H. Lang, on Smelter hill. About twenty-five years ago he cam? to Montana and for ten years was engaged en-gaged in newspaper work in Helena on the Independent and Herald. In 1SS.". or 1SS9 he came to this city as city editor edi-tor of the Leader, and was later editor and afterwards managing editor of the Tribune. He retired from newspaper work in 1S94, and for a short time resided re-sided in Butte, - but returned to this city several years ago and had since been in charge of the change house at the smelters. |
