They are intending- to give another entertain-I entertain-I ment to raise more money. Father ! Callahan is very well pleased over the I prospect. He stated that the first couple cou-ple married in - the new church will I surely celebrate their golden wedding. I -- A progressive euchre party was- given at the home of Mrs. W. Mu'.lins last Saturday afternoon in honor of her lister, Mrs. A. Cronin, of Salt Lake. j The home of Mrs. C. Sitzer of Ne- vada avenue was the scene of a pleasant pleas-ant time last Monday afternoon, when twelve ladies met to test their skill in the enjoyable game of euchre. The occasion was to honor Mrs. A. Cronin 3 of Salt Lake City. The guest prize t was? a rare Haviland china plate, which 1 Mrs. Cronin will be proud to show to - her Salt Lake friends. Mrs. Cronin 3 later was entertained by Mesdames E. Woods and T. C. Babbitt. HELENA, MONT. . : Mrs. T. R. Carson of Great Falls who, t with Miss Cruse of Helena had been t appointed by the state Worlds fair commission to take charge of the art department of the state building at t.e St. Louis exposition, received a le'.er fiom President Lee Mantle of the commission com-mission announcing that Mrs. W. W. Cheeley of Butte had been appointed the third member of the auxiliary commission. com-mission. Mrs. Cheeley is the wife of the manager of the Butte Inter-Mountain, and a prominent society and club woman wo-man of Butte. The auxiliary commission is to have general charge of the collecting, acceptance ac-ceptance or rejection and placing of all exhibits offered for the fine arts exhibition exhibi-tion at the state building, and will have personal charge of the exhibits. The three members are empowered to appoint ap-point sub-committees in every community commu-nity in the state, and to take all other action necessary to assist them in the work. The Society of Montana Pioneers has completed the revision of the list of sixty-seven new members taken into the society at its recent meeting at Great Falls. The earlist pioneer taken in this year was F. A. Lewis of Cascade county, who came to Fort Benton in Sept. 1S57. John Newport of Chouteau county arrived Oct. 22. 1S57, month later-than later-than Mr. Lewis. During the past year 120 members of the society died. j MISSOULA, MONT. I Miss Pauline Stadelhofer and Charles ! W. D. Hedger were united in marriage Oct. 25 at the Catholic church. Rev. Father Fa-ther Palladino ofiiciaiing. The ceremony cere-mony was witnessed by a few relatives and friends. Miss Stadelhofer is better known in this city by the name of Miss Pauline Schb.gl, her mother having become be-come Mrs. John Schlogl several years ago. They have resided on First street on the island, and Mrs. Hedger has grown to womanhood in this city. The happy couple departed for a trip to the coast, returning to this place in a few weeks. Several of their friends were at the station to give them a rice and old shoe sendoff. i i Stanley Flynn. the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Flynn, who was drowned in the old mill ditch, was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. The funeral was largely attended and the floral offerings were profuse and very beautiful. Covered beneath a mass of wreaths, the little casket was taken into the Catholic church, and Father Palladino officiated at t lie services. f Fred Biglow of this city and Miss Ad-die Ad-die Courtney of Butte were united in marriage last week at the Catholic church.
