Show CATHEDRAL NOTES. The musical programme for the 11 o'clock mass on Sunday will consist of: Voluntary, "Consolation". More male voices are needed very badly and singers are invited to volunteer their services. Good soprano and alto singers sing-ers will also receive a cordial welcome from the members. -4 The news of the death of Rt. Rev. Miss Myrtle Weber sang the "Et In-carnatus In-carnatus Est" at high mass last Sim-day. Sim-day. The young lady has a charming; voice and sings with rciuch 'expression. 4 ' The members of the Junior choir are hard at work on their cantata, "The Rrownie Hand." which will be given the last of the month. Rehearsal is held on. Saturday afternoon at 3:15, and also on Sunday at the same hour. Parents Par-ents are requested to send the children to the rehearsals. The musicl on Sunday nights shows considerable improvement of late. Many of the Junior choir are faithful in attending vespers and their pretty voices are much appreciated. Miss Kathleen Fitzpatrick was the ! soloist at the 9 o'clock mass last Sun-I Sun-I day. The young lady has an excellent I soprano voice. Misses Grace and Ethel Sullivan. I formerly of Ogden, and very charming young girls, are recent additions to the 9 o'clock c hoir. Pretty little Grace Hicks was a visitor vis-itor at the last Saturday rehearsal. The promoters of the Sac-red Heart league held their usual monthly meeting meet-ing last Sunday. Mr. (ioorge W. Keel, the zealous secretary, sec-retary, has returned from a month's visit to New York. Mrs. Keel will spend the winter in New York with her daughter, Mrs. Louis Beneiger. The membership of the Guild of St. Anthony is rapidly increasing. The dues are from a cents up and which may be paid to Mr. Carroll, the secretary secre-tary of the church. Should the Guild prove successful, much sufrerlng can be relieved during the coming winter months. There are always many poverty-stricken people who need help sadly, sad-ly, and a well organized charitable so- , ciety should exist in the church and be . ably supported by the parishioners. I The success of St. Anthony's Guild will be eagerly and anxiously prayed for by all. f Next Sunday will be communion day for the members of the Sodality of the Children of Alary. The meeting . will be held at -St. Mary's academy Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The members of the Sodality are at (present conducting an interesting debate, de-bate, under the direction of Rev. Father Fath-er Morrissey, the spiritual director. 4 The members of the Children of Mary Sodality are expected to attend the meeting next Sunday, before coming to the rehearsal for the coming entertainment. entertain-ment. The Sodality meeting must be first considered. 4 Mrs. J. It. Stephens and Mrs. C. C. Slade are the ladies appointed to attend at-tend to the altars this week. f The members of the Knights of Columbus Co-lumbus Council meet next Wednesday night. f The members of the Altar society held their usual monthly meeting last Monday. Rev. Father Faber of the Kearns' St. Ann's Orphanage sang the high mass last Sunday. The banns of marriage between Miss Anna Crofton and Mr. Thomas Mar-nane Mar-nane were published at the 11 o'clock mass last Sunday. Rev. Father Donovan celebrated mass at Bingham last Sunday. 4 ' Rev. Father Rulfamenie celebrated mass at Castle Gate last Sunday. The first meeting for the St. Anthony's An-thony's Guild will be held at St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. All of the congregation who intend to join the guild are expected to attend. The officers for the society will be elected and plans made for the charitable char-itable work to be don during the winter win-ter monthp. |
