Mrs. Edwin Wagner of St. Louis is visiting her sisters, the Misses Sheonin of 1361 Pennsylvania avenue. Mrs. J. F. Keating gave a luncheon last week in honor of Mrs. Edwin Wagner of St. Louis. Miss Josephine Smith, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Charles A. Estey at Glenwood Springs has re- turned to this city. St. Elizabeth's church will celebrate the Feast of the Portiuncula on Saturday, Satur-day, Aug. 2. Services will begin with vespers on Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock and benediction on Saturday evening at 8 o'clock. Elaborate preparations have been made for the appropriate celebration of the feast, as St. Elizabeth's, being I in charge of the Franciscan Fathers as the only church in the city authorized au-thorized to observe it with special services. ser-vices. The feast of Portiuncula is one of the greatest festivals of the Franciscan Fran-ciscan order, special indulgences being be-ing attached to the devout observance of it. The Feast of St. Alphonsus Iiguorl, patron of the Redemptorist order, will be observed in St. Joseph's church on Sunday next. Father Cantwell, who has recently returned from the east, will deliver the panegyric of the saint. A special musical programme will be rendered and several visiting priests will assist in the sanctuary. The priests of the Jesuit order are holding a week's retreat at the Sacred Heart college under the direction of uev. Eugene iicueoney, s. J. The retreat re-treat will close on Friday evening. - Next Sunday is the Feast of St. Ignatius Ig-natius and will be celebrated by all the priests of the Society of Jesus in Denver. Father Peters will preach and Father Barry say High Mass. s On next Wednesday the Sisters of Loretto will open their retreat at Lo-retto Lo-retto Heights academy. Father Krlnz, S. J., of Pueblo will conduct the exercises. Miss Emma Herey entertained last Friday evening in honor of Charles J. Mylott, wfao leaves for New York this week. " The priests of xenver who attended Bishop Pitaval's consecration at San-v. ta Fe last Friday returned to the city on Saturday evening. Pather J. P. Carrigan, pastor of St. Patrick's church, injured his hip in a fall at Santa Fe last Friday. His injury in-jury is not considered serious. PUEBLO. I . Tony Morran has gone to Pittsburg. Miss Anna McCarty, daughter of J. H. McCarty, a prominent attorney of Stansberry. Mo., is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Ella Corwick, and grandmother, Mrs. Mary A. Sullivan, at their home, 1207 Evans avenue. Mr. and Mrs. James Hennessey passed through the city Saturday on tmr return from their wedding trip to Salt Lake, bound for their future home in El Moro. -kite. i. i.-'i;.. v.ntv. Pueblo, was unitel in marriage on' Wednesday morning, July 23. at 9 o'clock, to Thomas Morrissey of Florence, Flor-ence, the ceremony taking place in St. Boniface church. The wedding will be long remembered as the prettiest and I most elaborate ceremony of the kind ever witnessed in St. Boniface church. Over 300 guests were present, when, promptly at 9 o'clock, the wedding party marched down the aisle to where the five priests were in waiting. The sweet strains of the wedding march floated through the air, and then softly, soft-ly, as the ring was being blessed, the solemn high mass was sung. Father Grome of ' Milwaukee, uncle of the bride, performed the ceremony, having come to Pueblo especially for that purpose. pur-pose. Father Benno, pastor of St. Boniface, was master of ceremonies, and the two were ably assisted by-Father by-Father Gregory and Fathers Chrysos-don Chrysos-don of Canon' City and Edmunds of Florence. Little Nellie Mulconery acted as ring bearer, and performed the du- j ties in a charming manner. The happy couple were attended by Miss Mamie Grome as bridesmaid, and George Morrissey, brother of the groom, as best man. The brids looked very pretty daintily gowned in wnite taffeta silk with a pretty covering of white, wearing wear-ing a wreath of orange blossoms and carrying a huge bouquet of bride's roses. The bridesmaid was tastefully gowned. After the ceremony was performed per-formed the bridal party and the guests repaired to the home of the bride's mother 216 Summit street, where an , elaborate wedding breakfast was I served. The happy young cojuple will . make their home . in Florence. The bride is a typical Colorado girl. She was born in Pueblo, and this has al-waysxheen al-waysxheen her home. From childhood she has, always been very popular with those whom she came in contact, and numbers a large host of friends. For years she attended the Central High school, and was considered very bright, always standing at the head of her class, and keeping alike the good will and well wishes of teachers and schol-are. schol-are.
