Lake City Friday, where they enjoyed a few days' pleasant visit. Mrs. Lawrence Kimball was up from the metropolis last w'eek on a visit with her sister, Mrs. Fred Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong. . Mr. and Mrs. Lamb, Mrs. C. Shields. Mrs. J. J. Harris, Miss Boyd and Mr. Bfcn Hampton Hamp-ton spent Sunday at Brighton's. Hon. C. S. Varian and wife' came up from Salt Lake Thursday and went for an outing on the Provo. Judge Henry Shields paid Salt Lake a business visit last Friday. Dr. and Mrs. Wilson, Miss Bessie Wilson, Miss Reynolds and Mr. Canters Can-ters spent a day at Brighton's last week. ' Mr. P. J. McDermott Is up from the metropolis again sizing up the possibilities possi-bilities of the camp. ---J Mrs. James Cullinan returned to her home at Salt Lake Thursday. The date fbr'the A. O. H. state convention con-vention is not yet definitely decided on, but will probably take place here on the 18th and 20th of the month. A large delegation from Ogden is expected to attend the convention Professor Kelly is preparing a play for the occasion, which promises to be a hummer. Mr. F. C. McFadden resigned his position po-sition as clerk with the Daly-West i company in order to complete a course at a mining school in Michigan. He left Salt Lake last Sunday. The explosion of a box of caps at the. Quincy mine Tuesday injured two of the employes, necessitating their removal re-moval to the hospital at Salt Lake. . Andrew . Anderson and Herman Wardburg. miners, employed in the Anchor mine, were instantly killed at 11 o'clock Thursday morning by being, caught in the main shaft. The men were in the shaft when the engineer lowered the -cage. They were caught and crushed.- I The body of Anderson was cut in two and Wardburg was so frightfully crushed and mangled that he died within a few seconds. |
