Show OGDEN. The Elks' carnival Attg. 14 at Lester park is to close with a masque carnival carni-val and not a mask ball. The entire park is to be allowed in the evening to masquers, who will be privileged to throw confetti after the manner of the Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Joseph Davis, 66 years old, died Saturday Sat-urday evening of pneumonia, at the home of Louis Allard, .137 Tracy avenue, aven-ue, where he has made his home since the death of his wife several years ago. The funeral took place, Monday from the Catholic church. The Weber County . Fair association will give its first exhibition next month, the dates agreed upon yesterday yester-day being Sept, 25, US and 27. All exhibits ex-hibits must be in plae Wednesday, Sept. 24. The new fair butlding in Ogden Og-den will be completed bv Uie middle of next month. The exhibitors will be able to take their exhibits from the Weber county show, which closes Saturday, Sat-urday, and have them id place In the state fair grounds by the following Tuesday, In time for the opening of the state fair. The Ogden lodge" of Elks perfected arrangements for establishing a bureau of Information at the oVpot, for the convenience of visiting Eflks. Further arrangements were made looking toward to-ward Elks' day in Ogden, Aug. 14. S. C. Gallagher, the railroad contractor, contrac-tor, is in town. Mrs. J. D. Sullivan is ba"ck from a visit to Evanston. ' Mrs. William Murphy is visiting in Ogden from Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Cullen left yesterday yes-terday for a visit to California. Miss Kate McManis of Pocatello, who has been visiting in the family of S. J. Allen, will return home today, accompanied accom-panied by Miss Alice Allen, who goes to Pocatello for a visit. Bom Twins, a boy and a girl, to Mr. and Mrs. William Handley. All well. Patrick Harlan, a well known resident resi-dent of Corinne, died Tuesday and was buried Thursday. Professor Charles O'Connor passed through Ogden Wednesday en route from Madison, Wis., to Berkeley university, uni-versity, California, where he is a member mem-ber of the faculty. Mr. O'Connor was accompanied by his sister, Miss Nora O'Connor, and the two.' were guests for twenty-four hours of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Allen. |
