No expense has been spared to make this picture appropriate appropri-ate even to the smallest detail. Upon th upper left hand corner is a view of the VATICAN VATI-CAN AT ROME; upon the upper riKbt hand corner is a picture of ST. PETEK'S CATHEDRAL CATHED-RAL at Rome, the largest church in the world-Between world-Between the two is the tiara worn by the Sovereign Sove-reign Pontiff.' In the center of the - picture encircled by a large imposing arch Is a picture of Pope Leo XIII, taken from his latest' photograph, photo-graph, and giving one of h!s most benevolent expressions of countenance. On either side of the arch is a representation of thp .chalice: beneath be-neath them representations of six candlesticks, containing lighted candles Lower down on the arch is a representation of the Pope's Insignia on the left side, and on the right Is the Ostensorium. Beneath this, and suprorting tho arch on either side are two figures of angels. Underneath the photograph is a representation representa-tion of a rock upon which is engraved a crcxis, and underneath are the words: -THOU ART PETER, and upon this rock shall I build my church, and the gates of bell shall, not prevail against it.". This is particularly appropriate to every true believer inasmuch as the Pope is the direct descendant of Peter- to whom these words applied, and who is described in Holy Writ as the rock. The cross. represents fie Catholio Church which is built on the rock. Underneath the rock are two keys crossed together-with a rosary, and beneath this is a tablet with the words POPE LEO XIII in most -beautiful type. On either side of the dablet is a representation of the gates of para-oise, para-oise, which are open to oil true believers, and rn the other side are the gates of hell, which ate closed in the same manner to all true be-eevers. be-eevers. There are many other beautiful and appropriate symbols in this picture, ucb as flowers, censers, etc. It is altogether the most lilaborate and costly production which has ever been printed, and is meeting with an enormous Bale. EVERY. CATHOLIC FAMILY WILL WANT ONE, and every true Catholic will be doing a good work in bringing this picture before be-fore the notice of their friends.
