Show j THE SEA. 1 When o'er the burnished and snow-crstM j mountain. Rets the red sun at the close of the day. Then the blue sea, like to sprays u" a fountain. Sparkles and flashes in frolioiome play. Through the white billows ae ships gaily dashing Back to their home on thss far-distant shore; . 1 While the bright beams on their white sails are Hashing. As the good ship skims the watery tloor. See, on the sands are the pearly shells shining. Tossed by the waves as they ripple away. Fading, now gleaming, appears their pink lining. As with the billows they merrily play. Like as the blue and tempestuous ocean. Tosses the shells from its bosom, ere long. Sweetly the poet heart swept by emotion. Fills the wide earth .vith some fragment of song. FLORENCE McINTOSH. Class '02. |
