Show NO nobLerdeath. The foul murder of Father Leo lleinricks in St. Elizabeth's Church, Denver, by a demoniac man, is one of the greatest blessing-.- that has descended de-scended upon society since the assassination of President McKinley. The assassination of the president was the expression of a conspiracy organized or-ganized for the destruction of the state; the murder mur-der of the priest was the protest of the same conspiracy con-spiracy against religion. Between the assassination assassina-tion of the president and the murder of the young priest there is a striking resemblance. The president presi-dent was approached under the guise of friendship and foully slain; tha priest was invited to his death by the plea of sacramental devotion. In both instances in-stances the assassins exulted in the success of their murderous mission. We have no sympathy for the priest, we rejoice in the manner of his taking tak-ing off, and thank God that he was slain at ths foot of the altar. His murder is the apotheosis of crime, the glorification of sin. His death was ihe death of the martyr and, like his Divine Master, he was an' innocent victim slain on the altar erected erect-ed by demons and demonized men for the adoration of lawlessness and lust. This man Guarnaccio was, like the assassin of the president, of a low order of intelligence, who, from his childhood, was saturated sat-urated with sin till his nature was perverted, his heart hardened, and his brain "diseased. A few more assassinations of presidents and a few more murders of priests, and the commonwealth will awaks to the sound of the tramp of the hosts I marching to the destruction of society. In that I awful social cataclysm, to be known for all time a the "French Revolution,"! the slogan of the infuriates in-furiates was: "Let us strangle the last of the kings with the bowels of the last of the priests." War was then declared by the demonized hosts on the men who stood for the maintenance and perpetuity per-petuity of law, order and religion. Now, how are these devils, like Guarnaccio and the murderers of our presidents, developed, manufactured and turned turn-ed loose on society? Well, read this, taken from an editorial of M. Comely in "Lc Matin," Paris, France. "She was ten years old. Every morning she came to the atheistical school, with the little basket containing her lunch. Lately the basket emitted the odor of petroleum, and the schoolmistress school-mistress asked for an explanation. She answered that her mother had cleaned the basket, with petroleum. pe-troleum. "And that little box of matches under the pieces of bread C . , "She did not know anything about them. ' "The other day a sudden fire burst "out in the bedroom of the teacher. It was as suddenly extinguished. extin-guished. It was found that the little pupil had thrown petroleum on some rags and set them on, 1 fire. She quietly acknowledged it to the inspector in-spector of Godless schools, saying: 'I wanted to burn the teacher because she gave me bad marks.' "The inspector said that he had several cases of the same kind on his hands. He was at his wit's end." Mr. Cornaly, after giving some frightful examples of the demoralization of the young, continues: con-tinues: "The republic speaks to its audience of children as to its audience of grown people. It says to the people: There is no God. It says the same to the children." The radical socialists at the last municipal elections in Rome, Italy, captured cap-tured 90 per cent of the municipal seats. At its last meeting the council declared for the elimination elimina-tion of the name of God and Jesus Christ from the text books. Some time ago Signor Manuel Fonda wrote a manual of instructions for the laicized schools of Italy. Here are some of the questions i I and answers: "Youdo not know a superior and directing being.'" The answer is: "What fori Demonstrate his necessity. Show him to us." And. then follows the question: "Who is Jesus Christ?" To which the "free" Italian childis made to respond: re-spond: "A man." After this comes an abominable abomina-ble blasphemy against the Mother of God. "Does the Church admit marriage?" is another question in this catechism of "emancipated" Italy. "She admits it, but she hates it." The schools and libraries li-braries of Italy, France and. Germany are the noxious nox-ious hothouses where human plants, like Guarnaccio Guar-naccio are developed" and many of them shipped to this country. When will the American people understand that the separation of religious and moral instruction from education means the decay of respect and reverence for law, order and authority. au-thority. Madmen of the kind of Guarnaccio, Steve Adams and Harry Orchard, in such large numbers and with a common understanding, constitute so terrible a danger for society that there is no longer any possible penalty except extermination. a - - |
