Show PARK CITY, UTAH. , Christmas at St. Mary's Church. (Special Correspondence.) The Christmas services held last Monday at St. Mary's Catholic church were very beautiful. The first Mass was held at 6 o'clock, and was very largely attended. Many of the congregation congre-gation received Holy Communion. At this service a short sketch of the Savior's Sav-ior's birth was. given by Father Galligan. Galli-gan. The second Mass was held at 8 o'clock. This service was attended by the local lodge of Hibernians, who received re-ceived the Holy Communion in a body. Father Galligan delivered a short but eloquent sermon on the grand work done by this Catholic society. The last Mass, which was a High Mass, was celebrated at 10 o'clock. The beautiful decorations of carnations, roses, holly, etc., added much to the solemnity of the occasion. The flowers vet. the gift of Mrs. Th mas Kearns. Mrs. S. J. Wilson and the ladies of the parish. The music and singing, were especially espe-cially good, being under the direction of Miss Kate Malone, who presided at the organ and was assisted by members mem-bers of the choir. A beautiful sermon on the birth of the Infant Savior was preached by Father Galligan. The Mass was followed by the Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Those who assisted in the decorating of the church were Mr. J. A. Malia, Misses Connelly, G. Fitzpatrick, Malone, Ma-lone, Osika, F. Kelly, V. Fitzpatrick and Mesdames Wynn, Galligan, Stohl and Gallivan. , Peter Osika. the well-known tailor, visited in Salt Lake the fore part of the week. Miss Annie Barrat visited in Salt Lake last week. f Mr. arid Mrs. William Buck visited in Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Keith last week. Mrs. Michael Fitzgerald and Miss Marguerite Fitzgerald have moved to Park City for the winter months. |
