Show ST. MARY'S ACADEMY. Hallowe'en Festivities Alumnae Dry October Reports. The members of the second senior class by a thoughtful foresight secured the privilage of entertaining the other senior classes at a Halloween party, and certainly no pains were spared by them to make the evening a most enjoyable en-joyable one. Costumed as witches, they u&hered their guests into most elaborately elab-orately decorated halls, where amid Jack-o'-lanterns and other most terri-! fying devices, the time was pleasantly beguiled with the mirth-provoking game of "Feather Duster." musical contests con-tests and the usual Halloween tricks and jokes. A delicious and beautiful repast brought the festivities to a satisfactory sat-isfactory conclusion, and the charming hostesses must have felt well rewarded for their generosity and their labors by the enjoyment so plainly evidenced by their companions. The 4th of November, Feast of St. Charles, falling on Sunday this year, I the reunion of the Alumnae was held a day in advance Saturday, the 3d. The! formal greetings to the members of the association were extended by the pupils in a literary and musical program, which took place at 3:30 in the afternoon. after-noon. Besides the alumnae who occu pied the center of the hall, a numbef of visitors also honored the pupils bj their presence, among the latter beini Father Kiely. Fathers Guinan, Gueyf mard and Walsh. The programme rendered ren-dered was select and well executed. j The Alumnae then held a meeti'i at which an election of officers was tie chief result. Miss Phillips was chosln president, Mrs. Hoge vice-presideft, and Miss Fisher secretary and trejs-urer. trejs-urer. The banquet followed, and as perhaps the most enjoyable part of he celebration, the customary toasts ; nd formal speeches being dispensed v ith and the usual compliments paid ii a more heartfelt manner. The rest of he evening was devoted to an elabor vie program of Halloween amusements, and when the hour of departure came it was the general sentiment that this was the most delightful Alumnae reunion re-union which the members had so far enjoyed. |
