Show Obituary. Mr. James J. Tobin of 2903 South Fourteenth street, Englewood. died at St. Anthony's hospital on Monday, Oct. 2!). Death was due to heart disease. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon after-noon from St. Francis de Sales church, and was under the auspices of the locai s lodge of Elks. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Mr. Tobin was 39 years of age. and i had but recently come from Victor, Colo., where he had engaged successfully success-fully in mining. He was also prominently prom-inently identified with politics. On Sunday, Oct. 28, Mr. and Mrs.. James E. Rittman were called upon to mourn the sudden and tragic death of their only son, Frank Rittman, a bright and promising lad of 12 years. Frank, with some other boys of his age, was indulging in the dangerous sport of shooting at snowballs as they were thrown in the air, when a bullet from the revolver of Bert Sutton, the Utile son of Mayor Sutton of Englewood. Engle-wood. passed through his head, causing almost instant death. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the family home in Englewood. Rev. Father Gordon read the prayers for the dead, and spoke words of comfort to the stricken parents. The music was very touching and was furnished by the boy's sorrowing sorrow-ing schoolmates under the direction of Professor Earl Johnson. Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery. The sympathy of the community is extended the father fa-ther and mother in their terrible affliction. afflic-tion. The funeral of Mr. Martin J. Phillips Phil-lips of 3740 Justina street occurred on Tuesday afternoon from St. Patrick's church. Interment was in Mount Olivet cemetery. Mr. Phillips is survived by his widow and two sons, Earl and Gerald Ger-ald Phillips. The remains of William A. Perdue, a young man of 27 years, who passed away at Mercy hospital on Tuesday, Oct. 30, were shipped for burial to his old home in Kansas City, Mo. On Saturday. Nov. S, George J., the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. George O. Caron, died at his parent's residence, 2363 Pennsylvania avenue. He was laid to rest Monday in Mount Calvary cemetery. cem-etery. Mrs. Ann M. Maloney of 5S South Lincoln avenue departed this life at St. Joseph's hospital on Tuesday, Oct. 30. She was buried on Thursday with requiem high mass at St. Leo's church. Interment was in Mount Olivet cemetery. ceme-tery. Mrs. Maloney was the widow of the late William Maloney. and mother of Mrs. T. F. Rowland of 1350 South Tenth street. , The body of Mr. James Mclntyre. who died on Tuesday, Oct. 30. at Wild Horse. Cheyenne county, Colorado, was brought to Denver for burial. The funeral occurred Friday morning from St. Elizabeth's church, Rev. Father Pius. O. F. M., saying requiem mass. Interment was in Mount Olivet ceme tery. Mr. Mclntyre was 54 years of aee and at the time of his death was county coun-ty commissioner for Cheyenne county. On Thursday. Nov. 1, Mrs. Annie Connors, Con-nors, wife of William P. Connors, passed away at her brother's residence, 3931 High street. Funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at Sacred Heart church on Larimer and Twenty-eighth streets. Interment was in Mount Olivet Ol-ivet cemetry. Mrs. Connors was a sister sis-ter of Mr. Francis B. McLaughlin. Mrs. Ellen Dowd died Saturday morning. morn-ing. Nov. 3, at her home, 1776 Logan avenue, at the advanced age of 89 years. She was buried Monday morning with requiem mass at Logan avenue chapel. Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery. Mrs. Dowd was the mother of Miss Ellen El-len Dowd, an active church worker and prominent member of Blessed Virgin's I Sodality. f I Francis Joseph Cavanaugh, infant -son of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Cavanaugh of 3801 Downing avenue, died last week at Mercy hospital, and was buried in Mount Calvary cemetery. Miss Mary Killcourse of 761 Lincoln avenue died at her home on Wednesday, Wednes-day, Oct. 31. after a short illness. She was. buried from Logan avenue chapel Friday morning at 8 o'clock. Rev. Father Fa-ther Bertrand saying mass and giving the final benediction. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Frank C. Hahn. ivho died last week at St. Anthony's hospital, was buried in Mount Calvary cemetery Thursday morning. Service was held in Horan's funeral chapel, 1527 Cleveland place. George Louis Le Sieur, who died in this city Monday, Nov. 5, was buried in Mcunt Calvary cemetery Wednesday morning. Requiem mass was said for him at Logan avenue chapel at 9 o'clock by Rev. Father Phillips. Edith A. McCallum, only daughter of Mr. D. McCallum. passed away on Friday. Fri-day. Nov. 2, at Mercy hospital at the tender age of 10 years. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon from the family residence, 3552 Goss street. On Tuesday, Oct. 30, Charles F. Schmidt passed away at St. Anthony's hospital, a victim of typhoid fever. He was laid to rest Thursday morning in Mount Calvary cemetery. Mr. Schmidt was but 27 years of ape. and had been but a short time in Denver. On Wednesday morning at S o'clock high requiem mass was sung in Logan avenue chapel for all the relatives and friends of the parishioners. The children's chil-dren's choir furnished the music, and the church was packed to the doors. |
