Show NOTABLE SOCIAL EVENT. j Knights of Columbus Inaugurate 'a I Season of Receptions. One of the most brilliant and gratifying grati-fying events in Salt Lake's Catholic social history came off last Monday j evening under the auspices of the j Knights of Columbus, in the parlors of i the Ladies' Literary club. Cards j formed the early amusement of the evening, 'si.. iy-three" being the game played. The prize, a handsome cut glass dish, was won by Mrs. Edward i McGurrin. I One of the pleasant features of the j evening was the first appearance of the Knights of Columbus quartette, which 1 received well-merited applause. The 1 members are Frank Scarpa, first tenor; C. A. Locke, second tenor; Joseph Sauer, first bass, and R. C. Dunbar, second bass. j A pleasing number of the programme was a trio by Miss Harley. E. F. Stol- I ! zenberger and T. C. Crawford. Mr. j Stolzenberger rendered a tenor solo in j a pleasing manner and received a well i deserved encore. Mr. J. Gallagher was the accompanist. During the latter part of the evening dancing was In order. Olsen's orchestra orches-tra rendered excellent dance music. Delicious refreshments were served downstairs in the banquet rooms.
