Show EASTERTIDE. (A Sonnet.) The incense sweet of early Easter morn. Breathes forth and mingles with the dewy flowers; Rejoicing birds from out earth's fragrant frag-rant bowers, Tell sinful man of Easter joy newborn new-born : With what shall we Christ's glorious tomb adorn? How, t-ibute meet nay to the man-God's man-God's power? Ah! naught but prayer alone the heavensent hea-vensent dotver Shall be the offering of a heart forlorn. for-lorn. O soul arise! from out sin's darksome tomb. Uplift thy thoughts and cast aside all gloom, As earth to sullen bleakness bids adieu, And a'l her. beauties don a brighter hue; So let thy higher powers rejoice al- way.
