Show Diocese of Boise BOISE CITY. Over Six Thousand Votes Cast In the Ortjan Contest. Up to Saturday evening, Nov. 2, over 6,000 votes had been cast in the Great Free Organ Contest at the Falk-Bloch Mercantile company's. The second count of ballots was held on that evening even-ing by Bishop Glorieux and Rev. C. Ross Baker, and showed the following in the lead: Y. M. C. A., 1.4S8; Miss Myrtle Kings-ley, Kings-ley, 1,104; St. Alphonse hospital, 940; Miss A. H. L. Decker, Nampa, 391; Crystal lodge, I. I. O. F.. Star. 305; Idaho state penitentiary. 250; St. Theresa's Ther-esa's academy, 197; St. Margaret's school, 105; Miss Minnie Straight, 70; Mrs. William Dewitt, 66; St. Michael's church. 56; Soldiers' home, 53: Miss Zel'a Pearce, 52; Ella Taylor, 48. Balance Bal-ance scattering. . -S Mathew Klncaid, 60 years of age, dropped dead Tuesday morning, the cause being heart failure. He had been ailing for years and his death was not unexpected. He was an inmate of, the Soldiers' home, and for some time has been taken care of in the hospital ward of the home. He was a. native of Illinois and was a veteran of the civil war, going as a private with the First battery, Kansas artillery. Miss M. O'Leary, daughter of J. L. O'Leary, the well-known sheepman, departed de-parted for Butte, Mont. Miss Maggie McGinnis, superintendent superintend-ent of schools of Boise county, arrived from Idaho City. She is the guest of Miss Permeal French, ' state superintendent superin-tendent of schools, during her stay in the city. J. J. McDonald, the contractor from Nampa, is in the city. He registered at the Capitol. |
