Show THE YOUNGEST BISHOP. Bishop Mundelein Consecrated to Assist As-sist Bishop McDonnell of Brooklyn. The consecration of the Rt. Rev. George W. Mundelein, former chancellor of the Brooklyn diocese, as titular bishop of of Loyoma and auxiliary bishop of Brooklyn, took place Tuesday morning at the Brooklyn pro-Cathedral. Thirteen bishops, thirty-one monsignorl, 500 priests and as many seminarians assisted at the impressive ceremony. Rt. Rev. Charles E, McDonnell was the consecrator. The sermon was delivered by the Rt. Rev. Thomas F. Cusack, D. D., auxiliary bishop of New York. It was an eloquent exposition of the rules, doctrine and procedure of the consecration of a bishop. Q The visiting prelates who participated were Bishops Chatard of Indianapolis; Gabriels of Ogdenburg, N. Y.; McFaul of Trenton, N. J.; O'Connor of Newark, N. J.; Hartley of Columbus, O.; Lud-den Lud-den of Syracuse, N. Y.; Burke of Albany, Al-bany, N. Y.; Hoban of Scran ton, Pa.; Col ton of Buffalo, N. Y.: Cusack of New York; Grimes of Syracuse, N. Y.; and Hickey of Rochester, N. Y. Rt. Rev. Msgr. George F. Houck of Cleveland was among those present |
