Show Mission Bell Dedicated. j A mission bell swinging from a staff eighteen feet high, standing before the doors of the Mission Dolores, the oldest ! building in San Francisco, was dedicated dedi-cated on Sept. 18 by Father Maximilian, Maximil-ian, head of the Franciscan order in that city. The dedication was intended as an observance of the hundred and thirty-third thirty-third anniversary of the dedication of the Presidio by the Spaniards. The bell marks the peninsula end of EI Camino Real (the King's highway), which extends ex-tends from the San Diego Mission. Congressaman Joseph R. Knowland. president of the Order of Native Sons, delivered the address of the day. |
