McLeire, repicscnthig the Stru-by-Esterbrook grocery house of Denver, Den-ver, Colo., has changed his headquarters headquar-ters from Grand Junction to Denver. Mr. McLeire has made 'many good friends while in this territory, and no doubt they all regret his making the change. Lew Storm, district manager for Swift & Co.. of Grand Junction, spent several days in the city last week. The Ladies' Aid met last week. May 3, at Mrs. Bennett's -on White avenue, and the society xvill meet on Thursday of this week. May I', at Mrs. Jam.is Purcell's on Rood avenue. It is to be hoped that a large attendance xvill be present and make the effort xvorth while. E. A. Ryan & Co. have moved their goods to their nexv quarters in the Reed building. Mr. Ryan's business has increased so in the past year it became necessary to move to a. larger building, and xve hope this xvill lie tre cause ever for "KdE" to move. Thp financial report of St. Joseph's church xvas read on last Sunday by Kev. T. M. Conxvay, shoxving all money received and expended since Jan. 1, and it certainly xvas encouraging both to Father Conway and the congregation, to be able to see such good returns fir their efforts. There will be May devotions evry Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings even-ings at 7:30 o'clock. On next Thursday, it being Ascension day. Father Conway xvill have mass at Whitexxater. and the masses at St. Joseph's Jo-seph's xill be at G and S a. in. The little son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Conxvay, who has heen very ill for the past month, is ab.e to be out again and. needless to say, his mother is x-ery thankful and happy to sec him ".veil 1 once more. Professor G. L. Payne will leaxe the first part of next xvcelc for a tour through the west, and expects to return re-turn in the fall. We trust he xvill. as Mr. Payne has made many friends during dur-ing his stay in Grand Junction. James Hamilton, the ex-travelir.g man. has invested his money in a beautiful beau-tiful fruit ranch three miles northwest of the city, and expects to he all settled set-tled by Ihe middle of June. Mr. Hamilton Ham-ilton at one time- had this territory for a Denver grocery house, and is well known here with a host of friends. |
