Slade, the ener- f prtic young president of the Altar so- I ciety. will have charge of the business ! fend of the excursion. Bishop Scanlan Entertains. On Sunday morning, Rt Rev. Bishop Fcanlan entertained all the little folks I from St. Ann's, who made their First 1 Communion, at breakfast. The tables were beautifully decorated with bowls of s - Kld and purple pansies. and the menu I was certainly substantial. The voung I ladies of the St. Cecilia choir served the tJiildren and were kept very busy. Choir Disbanded. I . ; The members of the Cathedral choir will I not practice any more this month. High t mass will be discontinued for the summer 1 after June S. The choir will hold re- hearsal though, all during the summer, f beginning the first Friday in July. I Rev. Father Ryan Congratulated. I Rev. Father Andrew Ryan, the energetic I young priest of St. Mary's is deserving I of much credit for the successful showing made by the children under his charge, who made their First Holy Communio.'i and received continuation. Rt. Rev. Bishop Scanlan said the class was the best he ever examined, and was very happy to find, as he said. "Children so bright, so good and so well instructed." The little folks were highly pleased to hear the Bishop's good opinion, of them, and they mean to try hard to merit his good opinion for the future. |
