Sherman, one of the "kings of the yards," presented him with a block of stock in the National Live Stock band, which Mr. Sherman had just founded. Then the bank grew prosperous, pros-perous, and in late years has declared dividends of ." per cent annually. Recently it was decided to retire the bank and merge its business in the Live Stock Exchange National. National Na-tional bank examiners were called to go over the books. When they had finished their calculations they found that one M. J. Dorney was entitled to $68,000 for his stock and unpaid dividends. divi-dends. "I propose to spend this money for the welfare of my church and in assisting as-sisting the schools of the parish of St. Gabriel," said Father Dorney. "The money I have received from the bank will relieve suffering and make many homes happier, and I will get as much pleasure as anyone from it in giving it away.
