The subject was I "An Account of the Life of William I j Shakespeare, wilh an Outline of the i Play of Macbeth.". A scene from King ' Henry IV was recited by Misses Ora Blake. Aileen Sullivan and Mary Walsh . of 'senior A. The reports showed the following re- i suits: Georgie Sullivan held first place ! in the seventh grade. Ethel Warlau- mont in the eighth. Julia Brown in senior D, Helen Keefe in senior C, Nellie Nel-lie Martin in senior B and Mary Dun-stann Dun-stann in senior A. The reading of the juniors' cards on Thursday afternoon was relieved by the following programme: Musical examinations by Margaret Dinneen. Gertrude Knight. Ida Welsh and Minnie Manowal. A chorus bv the little girls of the first grade; a chorus by the boys of the third grade. "The Rival Poets." a recitation by Masters Harold McGrath and AIb-?rt Hih-schwerlin. Hih-schwerlin. which was repeated for t lie Friday afternoon matinee. "The Walrus Wal-rus and the Carpenter" was spoken by the girls of the seventh grade. Those holding first place in their classes were Gladys McGrath in the secoid grade, Catherine Flannery in the third. Theodora McHugh in the fourth, May Riley in the fifth and Sa- 1 die MeCloskey in the sixth. Those having hav-ing excellent in their repetition of home lessons were May Riley and Arabella Scott of the fifth grade. j (Special Correspondence.) ' ' Cheyenne, Nov. 9. Rt. Rev. J. J. Keane has returned from a trip to the World's fair. The Young Ladies' Sodality gave a very- delightful dance Thursday night in Keefe hall. 4 The Democratic rally Friday night was a grand success. Speeches were made by Taliaferro, Osborne. Corn. Alger Al-ger and Gill. The ppeech made by Osborne Os-borne was beyond comparison. It was concise, strong and true. His remarks were hot personal, but he was only returning re-turning good for evil. The death of T0. Middaugh, the Cody banker, who was shot last week, has caused much regret, as he wag welt known in Cheyenne. I All of the candidates who have been 1 sn campaign tours have returned to E their respective homes throughout the f; state. i The football game between the Gree- ley normal and Cheyenne High school jj Saturday afternoon was 6 to 5 in favor of the Cheyenne High school. The boys will meet the university boys on Tuesday Tues-day for a match game. |
