Connell of Butte entertained enter-tained the following friends at a theater thea-ter party to witness the performance of "Quo Vadis" at the Grand Opera House, Friday evening: Mesdames Largey, Shaw, Friecud, Johnstone, Misses Foster, Fine, Dawson, Largey, Eleanor and Viola Horgan. Mrs. Dan McDonald is visiting Helena Hel-ena friends. Miss Helen O'Neill is greatly interested inter-ested in the social life of the working girl. A movement is on foot to or ganize a club to better the social condition, con-dition, and to further the educational , advantages of the wage earner. Mrs. i Sam Johnstone is also much interested and has prepared a paper to be read Friday evening at the Ethical Culture Clubtaking up the "Social Life of the Wage-Earner." Miss Katie O'Brien of Sheridan is a Butte visitor. Mayor McCarthy telegraphed to the Mayor of Galveston to draw on the city of Butte for $700 for the relief of the sufferers. This amount was generously gen-erously donated by the council and city officials individually. Such actions will win the hearty commendation of all charitably inclined people. A business meeting of the Young Ladies' La-dies' Institute was called last Tuesday evening. Transaction of important business was the motive for the meeting. meet-ing. Miss and funeral services were held last Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Lawrence's Church, Walkerville, for the repose of the soul of the late James E. Foley. |
