Show SOCIAL AND PERSONAL. I ; Invitations have been issued by Mrs. W. D. MeGilvray of Pasadena for the marriage of her daughter Marion to O. J. Salisbury of this city at 9 o'clock on the evening of June 2 at the MeGilvray home. Dr. J. K. W. Bracken and his sister, Miss Edith Bracken, have taken a house at 631 East Third South street, and their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Bracken, from Ohio, are here to spend the summer with them. Ralph A. Bowdle, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Bowdle, will graduate June 5 from the Medical College of Ohio, and June 17 he will attend the commencement exercises of Westlyn university, where he formerly graduated. Early in July he will return here, where he is to be house physician at Holy Cross hospital. hospi-tal. President Frank Knox of the National Nation-al Bank of the Republic has returned from a three weeks' absence in the east, where he attended a special meeting of the executive committe of the American Ameri-can Bankers' ascociation at Briarcliffe, N. Y. Mrs. and Miss Judge left Thursday for Los Angeles for a short trip. Later Mrs. Judge will return to "The Cobbles, Cob-bles, her country home here, to spend the summer. Mrs. C. S. Gibson of Washington, D. C, who is the guest of her son and his wife, Mr. anad Mrs. George J. Gibson, Gib-son, will be here for another week. Mrs. F. E. Hays and wife of Bingham are :n the city for a brief visit, and are guests of the Kenyon. Dr. and Mrs. H. P. Kirtley entertained entertain-ed Wednesday night at a finely appointed ap-pointed dinner at their home in honor of Miss Eudora Daly and her fiance, Mark Lillard, and Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Daly. The color scheme was yellow, carried out in spring blossoms. Among the prominent Salt Lakers who will attend the McGilvray-Salis-bury wedding in Pasadena, Cal., June 2, are Mrs. Mary Judge and her daughter. daugh-ter. Miss Katherine Judge, Mrs. Arthur Bird and Miss Genevieve McCornick, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Judge, who will visit in San Francisco before going to Pasadena. Mrs. R. A. Grant is entertaining Miss Frances Joyce of Ogden for a few days. Miss May Brunton is at home from Stanford after completing her course. The graduation exercises of St. Mary's Ma-ry's academy will be held Friday, June 18. Cards are out for the McGilvray-Sal-isbury wedding, which will take place in Pasadena at 9 o'clock the night ot June 2 at the home of the bride's mother. Mrs. Walter Lewis of Butte, Mont, is here to spend some time, the guest of her mother, Mrs. S. S. Walker, and her sisters. Mrs. O. K. Lewis and Mrs. M. R. Stewart. Mrs. Hal Brown and Mrs. M. B. w hitney will be hostesses Saturday at a social affair at the home of the former, for-mer, for Mrs. A. E. Wall. Miss Eudora Daly and Mark W. Lillard Lil-lard were guests of honor at a well appointed ap-pointed dinner Tuesday evening, given by Dr. and "Mrs. H. P. Kirtley. The color scheme of yellow was effectively carried out. Covers were laid for, besides be-sides the guests of honor, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Daly. Misses Rae and Olive Bartch entertained enter-tained four tables at a bridge tea Wednesday afternoon in honor of Miss Eudora Daly. Primroses were effectively effective-ly carried out in the decorations, with a large mound of them in the center ot the tea table, where Mrs. E. J. Roberts poured, assisted by Miss Mildred McMillan. Mc-Millan. Prizes were won by Miss Daly and Miss Tarr,ie Sappinerton. Mrs. D. SI. Hagen of Pasadena, Cal., is enjoying a three months' visit with her sister. Sirs. J. A. Sanborn. Sirs. J. A. Sanborn gave a birthday party to her little daughter, Lucy, on Thursday afternoon. Refreshments were served and the thirty young guests spent a most enjoyable time with games and entertaining amusements as are dear to the hearts of the children. Sirs. S. H. Pinkerton gave a box party at the Colonial theatre Saturday matinee mati-nee in honor of Sliss Luce. The guests were Miss Slarie Luce, Sirs. Joseph Luce, Sirs. E. A. Wall, Sirs. James Geo-ghegan.
