Show SOLEMN AND IMPRESSIVE CEREMONIES. Sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation Reeceived by One Hundred Children at St. Mary's Cathedral. 3 I The giolemn feast of the Trinity was fittingly, celebrated last Sunday ' from S o'clock in the morning when a hundred hun-dred children received holv communion, com-munion, until evening when the beautiful beauti-ful ceremony of the coronation marked the close of the gladsome golden May days. Kev. Father Kiely celebrated the S o'clock mass and preached the sermon, ser-mon, which was expressly for the children. chil-dren. He explained to th?m the meaning mean-ing of the Blessed Kuehorist and the bearing that its worthy receiving would have on their after lives. Every thing surrounding the services was impressive. im-pressive. Just before going to the altar a little lit-tle pupil of St. Mary's academy read the Acts for Communion. The music rendered by the junior choir was very-fine. very-fine. Kathleen Fitzpatrick and Clara Fafek being the soloists. At 11 o'clock solPtnu Pontifical High Mass was celebrated by Kt. Kev. Bishop Seanlan. assisted by Kev. Father Gtiinan. Rev. Father Kiely and Kev. Father Morrisscy. The music was very line, the choir being assisted bj- John and Thomas Fanning, , two very clever musicians, violinist and cellist. Master Edward Fitzpatrick. the regular violinist of the choir played' the voluntarj-,. .which was a . . special 1 feature of the serriw. Pre-ceding. the Confirmation the Bishop delivered the most eloquent and forceful force-ful sermon ' oyer given in the Cathedral. He spoke at some length, the importance of the subject demanded de-manded .that it' should tfike that time, for it was a subject that concerns the well being of that church and state-namely, state-namely, the necessity of proper, home training of the children by the parent?. The Rirhop treated the subject exhaustively exhaus-tively and expressed' himself in plain and forceful language.
