Conditions Favorable For Rapid Growth of Vegetables: The weather durinir the week, while somewhat cool and cloudy, was, on the whole, favorable for the rapid growth or vegetation. Light to heavy general rains were frequent, and. while delaying farm work somewhat, .were, of great benefit to the range and all crops! which were in splendid condition. Winter wheat was beginning to head, spring grain was coming to good stands, and lucerne starting to bloom.' Sugar beets were in fine condition . and were being thinned out. Pastures were good and -stock was in consequence thrivinjr. The rains had so thoroughly soaked the ground that irrigation was unnecessary, except in a few- localities. '
