Show ANARCHISTS EXCLUDED. The law of March 3, 1903, which provides that no one "who disbelieves in or who is opposed to organized or-ganized government shall be permitted to enter the United States," has been sustained by the supreme court. To this decision every law-abiding and loyal citizen will give his hearty-consent. The decision of the supreme court was brought on by an appeal from the action of the New York immigration authorities, au-thorities, who ordered the deportation of John Turner, the English anarchist, whose avowed mission mis-sion to America was to advocate the rights. of anarchy. The bold effrontery and defiance of these no-government schemers, coming so soon after the assassination of our esteemed and revered President Presi-dent McKinley by one of their satanic members, is without parallel in the history of our country. Anarchy originated in heaven, when the proud prince of darkness rebelled against his Creator. The same spirit that prompted Satan to rebel dominates domi-nates all anarchists, who are his loyal children. Viewing the case impartially and impassionately, it is strange to find, in, this blessed land of liberty, law and order, persons and prominent journals who denounced at the time the action of tha immigration immi-gration authorities as "un-American, high-handed tyrannical and stupid." These words are culled from Mr. Shepard's address at Cooper Union in New York. The Philadelphia Record, commenting on the action of the immigration authorities, said: "When the penalization of thought has once begun be-gun there is no knowing where it will end. Having Hav-ing proscribed theoretical anarchists, it would be but a short step to the proscription of theorretical monarchists or free traders. The protection of the common law, involving publicity, jury trial and judicial inquiry, having been withdrawn from immigrants im-migrants during the first three years of their residence, resi-dence, the period of outlawry might readily be extended ex-tended to five, ten or even fifty years. The law has given to the secretary of the treasury and, his underlings un-derlings tyrannic powers, to be exercised as their caprice may direct." This objection is answered by the very fact that the. followers and sympathizers of the anarchist were allowed to appeal his case to the supreme court. How any loyal, liberty-loving American could, defend those Revolutionists and desperadoes who, failing to reach -their satanic aims in their own country, fly to America to save their necks from the halter, is beyond comprehension. These emissaries of Satan, who are, branded outlaws and sworn members of secret societies, have only one aim in life, and that is the destruction of all government. gov-ernment. To propagate their nefarious and satanic doctrines they pretend to have constitutional rights.' Men need government. Anarchists say no, government govern-ment is a curse. The people say we have a right to demand government. A few unprincipled, crazy demagogues cry out that government is an injustice. injus-tice. Without government, say the people, there is no life or liberty. With it, say the cutthroat, secret, se-cret, oath-bound anarchists, the liberty we seek is dead. Therefore it is our sworn mission to murder the heads of the government and, as far as possible, pos-sible, to destroy the government. This is no exaggeration ex-aggeration of the anarchist's mission, aim and view, and bur government is to be congratulated when it serves notice on European anarchists that on Amerieau (PDil their agents will find no resting place. Tru s American blood boils with indignation at the' rnoi;.irnental cheek 'of ; these parasites and monsters in demanding the right , and liberty of speech to tear down what American thrift and genius have'built up. This, too, whilst'the nation was mourning the death of its president by one of their members. ' ' |
