Show A Fruit Diet Twice a Year. j (From a Paris Letter.) j Dr. Romme, a well known medical j authority, asks in a French journal j whether man can live on fruits alone, and answers in the affirmative. An ideal and "more than sufficient" fruitarian fruit-arian menu for the day is two pounds of fresh grapes, one pound of dry figs, one-half pound of almonds, one-half pound of oranges. The menu can easily be varied. Bananas, strawberries, walnuts, chestnuts chest-nuts and hazelnuts are among the most nutritious fruits, while currants, cherries, cher-ries, plums, peached, apricots and pears are also valuable. Dr. Romme does not think It advisa-be advisa-be to live entirely on fruits, but strongly strong-ly recommends to every one a fruitarian fruita-rian regimen twice a year for a period of ten or fifteen days as a marvelous and unique health restorer. |
