Show Sacred Heart Parish Notes. Extensive repairs begau on the .Sacred .Sa-cred Heart church last week. The old roof will be replaced by a new one and the frescoing, which is considered to be the finest in the city, will be retouched. A fine baby boy came to brighten .the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Gaul one day last week. The little one was christened by the Rev. -Father Barry. S. J.. on Monday last, and was given the name of James. Miss Eva Walsh, who is a very prominent prom-inent member of the Young Ladies' Sodality, So-dality, is teaching at Cline, Colo. The enrollment at the Sacred Heart school this year is by far larger than any previous year. With Sister Mary Alexine of Cincinnati. O.. as principal, and the large and able staff of sisters which assist her, this school is second to rone in the west. The attendance in the High school and business departments depart-ments is particularly, large this year. Mrs. Robert Ogle and family returned I last Friday from Durango. Colo., where they have been spending the summer season. Sunday school for children attending me puonc scnoois win De neiu every Sunday at 2 o'clock in the basement chapel. Children wishing to make their first Holy Communion next spring should particularly try to. come to these J. instructions. Thursday was the first anniversary of the death of Miss Mamie Delaney. "and high mass of requiem was offered for her. Miss Delaney was the daughter of Chief of Police Delaney,' and wa.s one of Denver's most popular young ladies. Next Friday evening at 7:30 o'clock J devotions in honor of the Sacred Heart will be held. The Rosary, short sermon and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament Sacra-ment will make up the service. The prayers of the congregation have been asked for the recovery of Andrew-Day, Andrew-Day, the junior organist in the church and prefect of the boys' sodalitv, who is seriously ill at St. Joseph's hospital, he having undergone an operation last week. Mrs. Ann Talbot, who died recently in Ireiand. was prayed for at Sacred Heart church Sunday. Next Sunday marks , the opening of the winter season at the Sacred Heart church. High masses will be resumed that day at 11 o'clock and continued every Sunday throughout the fall and winter months. A series of lectures and sermons on the "Sacrifice of the Holy Mass" will commence that day at the 9:30 and 11 o'clock masses, and continue con-tinue until fuither notice. This is an excellent chance for Protestants, and also for Catholics uneducated in this line to learn about this greatest of all sacrifices.
