Show EUREKA, NEV. l' : i Father Mnni.m returned. Monday from his visit along tho railroad in E!ku countv. . . " i Martin Mahoney arrived at Palisade Wednesday and is expected in Eureka in a few days. A private letter received in Eureka this week brought the sad news of the death of Miss Kathleen McLaughlin at Los Angeles, Cal., on the 2Sth of last May. She was the daughter of the late D. J. J. McLaughlin, who owned the stage line running between Eureka and Ruby Hill in the 'SO's. Miss McLaughlin McLaugh-lin was a school teacher by profession and grew to womanhood in Nevada, having taught in the public school of Hamilton, White Pine county, in 1869. She removed to Eureka in 1870 with her parents and taught school on Ruby Hill for ahout ten years. She left Eu-teka Eu-teka in 1SS0 for California, where she, resided up to the time of her death. Surviving her are a step-mother, Mrs. D. J. J. McLaughlin, now residing at San Jacinto, Cal.. a nephew and sister, Mrs. John Shaver, wife of Supervisor Shaver of San Jacinto. Mrs. Shaver was with her sister at the time of the latter's death. |
