Show Obituary. The sad death of William J. A'Hern has cast a gloom over a large circle of friends. William A'Hern was the eldest eld-est son of Mrs. Mary A'Hern of 971 South Fifteenth street, and was born in Denver July 1, 1S83. He spent his early years of school life at Immaculate Immacu-late Conception school, going later to an eastern college. By profession he was an assayer, and had gone to Trinidad Trin-idad only two weeeks before his fatal illness to fill a responsible position. On Tuesday evening, June 25, he was stricken with spinal meningitis and, though he received every care and attention at-tention known to medical science, passed away on Saturday. At his bedside when death came were his mother, who had beene hastily summoned sum-moned to Trinidad when he was first taken ill, and Sister Sebastian, one of Willie's early teachers in Denver, but now stationed at St Joseph's aeademv. Trinidad. The bereaved mother accompanied accom-panied the body to Denver, where the funeral was held Wednesday evening, July 3, from Logan avenue chapel. Requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. Father McMenamin, who also spoke words of comfort to the sorrowing family. The Junior choir furnished the music. There were present many friends and neighbors who had known the young man from infancy, had been interested in following his career and had watched his beautiful character unfold day by day. The pall-bearers were chosen from among his former schoolmates, and were Messrs. James Daily, George Ryan. Frank Kelly, Harry McCabe, Will Thurber and Dr. James I. Laughlin. Interment was in Riverside cemetery, in the family lot. Besides his mother, William A'Hern is survived by three sisters. Misses May, Gertie and Bernadette A'Hcyh, and a young brother, Neal A'Herrtf. v The body of William H. JMcGovern, who died at. Whalen died on Wednesday. Wednes-day. June 26, after a long illness. Deceased De-ceased had come to Denver from Illinois Illi-nois several years ago suffering from tuberculosis, and improved sufficiently to be able to take a position as treasurer treas-urer of the Crolius Coal company. However, the change for the better was not permanent. The body was shipped on Thursday to his old home in Minnoka, 111. - Mrs. Jean , Louise Mandel, wife of Philip Mandel of Laramie, Wyo., passed away at Mercy hospital on Tuesday, June 25. The funeral was held Thursday morning with requiem mass at Logan avenue chapel. Interment Inter-ment in Mount Calvary cemetery. Martin Conley, for years a resident of 2704 Lawrence street, died in Pueblo, Colo., on Monday, June 24, at the advanced ad-vanced age of S6 years. The body was brought to Denver and buried from Sacred Heart church, where requiem mass was said on Thursday, June 27. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. |
