Holmes returns from the Nation-nl Nation-nl Irrigation Congress full of enthusiasm enthusi-asm nnd energ) for the great work that boly has done and has )et to do Ho will devote much time to the furtherance further-ance ot the objects ot the Congress, and will be glad to hear from every one haling reasonable views to present, or workable plans In mind At tho same time, t ol Holmes will continue his zealous work In behalf ot the elti a water supply He Is at the head of the Commercial Club's great committee of fifty, which by Its subcommittees sub-committees has an Investigation In progress pro-gress of the whole water supply as It at present exists, and as it ma) be made It Is fortunate that he Is so disposed, and that h will not nllow one branch of this great water question to Interfere Inter-fere with or obscure the other great but entire!) separate branch of the same subject, W hen the general report of this committee com-mittee of fifty Is made, It will, we are sure, bo comprehensive, business-like, and practical. It will show the poisl-bllltles poisl-bllltles of the water supplies for this city, how they can be made available, nnd practically at what cost The plan will be susceptible nt gradual development, develop-ment, and will be so nhvlousl) to the advantage of the city that the people will see nt once that It Is both prudent nnd advisable to adopt It |
