Show IN THE EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT 1 STATE OF IDAHO V BOISE PROCLAMATION FOR JULY SAFETY WHEREAS, The National Safety Council is conducting' a nationwide campaign to cut down the heavy July accident toll, which, last year took tthe lives ot 9,860 Americans; and, WHEREAS, This terrible sacrifice to carelessness careless-ness is due largely to the- independence Day holi day, increased summer traffic and recreational activities; ac-tivities; and, WHEREAS, During the month of July last vear 22 persons were killed in traffic accidents upon up-on Idaho highways, and of this number five were killed on July 3rd and 4th; and, WHEREAS, The streets and highways of Idaho Ida-ho will be crowded with thousands on the triple Fourth of July holiday that will be observed this year and they will make an effort to .get in a three day vacation during the week-end; and, WHEREAS, Every citizen in Idaho is willing and they will make an effort to get in a three day vacation during the week; and- WHEREAS, Every citizen in Idaho is willing and eager to help reduce this toll of death, injury and suffering; ' . . NOW, THEREFORE, I Chase A. Clark, Governor Gover-nor of the S.ate of Idaho, by virtue of the authority authori-ty vested in me, do hereby call upon every citizen to join wholeheartedly in this campaign to halt accidents ac-cidents on. the Fourth of July and throughout the extra hazardous month of July. Let each of us use increased care in walking and driving, exercise greater caution in hunting, fishing, swimming and boating, refuse to use explosives or firearms and .refrain from driving- after drinking. Courtesy, caution, cau-tion, cooperation and consideration will prevent needless accidents.
