Show MinkCreek and Winder Plan July Fourth Celebration Good Programs Are Arranged PATRIOTIC THEME TO BE FEATURED Sports, Concessions Barbecue, Etc. Slated By Committees MINK CREEK (Special) Independence Inde-pendence Day will be a gala affair Id this community as plans were completed to play host at a celebration cele-bration on the evening of July d and all day July 4. Entertainment will begin Thurs day evening of the third with a big barbecue dinner at 8 p. m.. followed fol-lowed by a patriotic program, a display of fireworks and a midnight mid-night dance beginning at 11 p. m. A parade will start the 4th celebration cele-bration at 11 a. m. winding up at the baseball park where a f'')l afternoon of sporting events for all ages as well as Softball, boxing and wrestling will be featured. There will also bp concessions. The holiday will be climaxed with a dance on the evening of the Fourth. WINDER (Special) Extensive plans for the July 4th celebration here were being completed this week and a hearty invitation is being extended to everyone to join In observing the holiday. Opening parade will have floats and entries from each organization in the ward and business men of Preston have been invited to cooperate. co-operate. Parts on the program will be presented by persons from neighboring neigh-boring wards and an outstanding program is anticipated. The afternoon will be filled wfth a sports program with competitive events for both children and adults. A Softball game will also feature the girls from Dee's Drive Inn vs. the Winder girls, and there will be wrest'Jng and boxing matches. v A free dance will be held in the ward hall on Friday evening with music by the Vern Nelson orchestra. |
