Tauuer, was presented in a final piano recital prior to her leaving fo Provo, Utah, to attend tQe Brigham Young university. uni-versity. The recital was given at the home of her instructor, Mrs. George Paull Monday evening. She was assisted by Mrs. Horland Simmons who sang two vocal selections se-lections accompanied by Mrs. ' Paull. The following members gave interesting interest-ing three minute talks: Mrs. George Egbqrt on "Russia's Asiatic Civilization in 1700," Mrs. Virgil Rorabough on "Plans of Peter the Great and How They Were Carried Car-ried Out," Mrs. Carlos Clark on "A New Low In Politics," Mrs. Lajiry Robinson on "The Governmental Govern-mental System of the Old Regime," Mrs. G. W. States on "The Old Regime Re-gime In Operation," Mrs. N. H. Hale on "The Third Estate," and Mrs C. L. Jenkins on "Other Creators Cre-ators of New Social Concepts." Supplementary explanations were given by Mrs. Harold Hawkes, Mrs. E. A. Crockett, Mrs. G. C. Kilgqre, and Mrs. Ezra Foss. Mrs. R. E. Strub gave the word drill. DAYTON COUPLE WEDS IN SALT LAKE TEMPLE The marriage of Miss Mary Hill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Hill of Dayton, to Delmer Mfcckel-son, Mfcckel-son, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mickelson, also of Dayton, on Tuesday, Tues-day, Setember 10, in the Salt Lako LDS temple, has been announced. RELIEF SOCIETY OFFICERS HOLD KITCHEN SHOWER The kitchen shower sponsored by the Relief Society officers of the Franklin Stake Board and the First ward was considered very successful by those in charge and by those who attended. Many useful gifts were given and it is now considered con-sidered to be one of the best equipped equip-ped kitchens in the community. A program of games was carried out by the Stake Primary association. Mrs. Marie Merrill and Mrs. Sadie Cutler were in charge of general anrangements with Mrs. Allice Merrill Mer-rill and Mrs. Hannah Williams on the reception committee, Mrs. Anna Palmer and Mrs. Lois Goas-lind, Goas-lind, gifts; Mrs. Grace Johnson and Mrs. Lucy Tanner, refreshments; and Mrs. Flora Hansen and Mrs. Bodily in charge of the entertainment. entertain-ment. MARRIAGE OF COUNTY COUPLE ANNOUNCED Mr. and Mrs. Leland L. Auger announce the marriage of their daughter Vaudis, to Clifford Sharp son of Mr. and Mrs. Jospeh T. Sharp of Mapleton which took place Wednesday, September 18, 1940, in the Logan LDS temple. The bride is a graduate of the Preston high school and Mr. Sharp has fulfilled a mission to the Western West-ern States. The young couple will make their home in Mapleton. On Saturday afternoon, Septem. beir 14, Mrs. Emma Auger entertained enter-tained at a trousseau tea in compliment com-pliment to her daughter Vaudis. In the receiving line were Mrs. Joseph Sharp, Mrs. Ina Stocks and Miss Cleda Auger. In the trousseau room with the bride elect was Mrs. Sylva Golightly. Mrs. Edna Housley and Miss Zetta Auger had charge of the gift room and Miss Eva Webster with the guest book. Miss Alna Auger, Miss Ellen Sharp and Miss Zona Pilgrim were in charge of the serving.
