Show JAYCEES HEAR BART BOWDEN AT FIRST FALL MEET Reports on the national convention conven-tion of the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce, appointment appoint-ment of two committees, and an interesting address by Bart Bow den who recently returned from a mission in England, were the highlights of the first fall meeting of the Preston Jaycees here Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. Ben Johnson and Paul Boetti-cher, Boetti-cher, two of Preston's three delegates dele-gates to the convention in Washington, Wash-ington, D. C, gave reports on the convention. Bart Bowden spoke to. the group on his experiences as a missionary in England. In speaking of the chances of England in beating ba,ck the Nazi invasion, he pointed out that the Royal Air force is one of the best trained and best disciplined disci-plined in the world. The navy is still regarded as the bulwark of tltetr defense, however. Win or lose, the English will give a courageous coura-geous account of themselves, he said, for the people are determined to defend their homeland to the bitter end if need be. Carl Nielson and William Craner were appointed as members of the agricultural committee, and Ernest Britenbeker and Carl Nielson were re-named to the committee to promote pro-mote a skating pond. |
